REVIVAL

it’s not something you can just schedule.

I know you join me in a sincere desire to see true Heaven sent revival throughout your area as well as the entire United States of America. As I’ve served in ministry, I have grown even more concerned with the apparent lack of urgency and expectancy most churches and church members exhibit toward God in our present day. Adrian Rogers says: “It is not our job to implore God to send revival, it is our job to permit Him to do so. By our own actions.” The days are over for scheduling a series of meetings and having a covered dish dinner, WE NEED REVIVAL! Not the traditional thing we may do every year on the church calendar, but REVIVAL.
According to the word of God, found in Ephesians 4: 11, Evangelists are a gift to the church. As you look at that verse though and on to verse 12, you’ll notice that we are all mentioned! Interesting. Saints, Preachers, Teachers, Pastors, Evangelists, Apostles and Prophets all working together for one common goal: The perfecting of the Lord’s church.
Billy Graham says, 45% of the effectiveness of a revival is preparation, 10% is proclamation or presentation, and 45% is preservation. Your church must prepare (45%)…(1), Pray (2) Bring the lost, (3) Promote. The church must follow up (45%)… (1) Baptize those who are saved, (2) Connect them to a small group, (3)Visit, witness to, and win their lost friends and family members as soon as possible.
May I encourage you to plan two revivals this year? Involve your entire church? Do the preparation? Expect people to be saved? Follow Up? Use a God called evangelist. Dr. Roy Fish said it like this… “Revivals work when people do.” Work a revival. The fruit will be souls saved, a church revived and alive in Christ, and last but not least…a Pastor encouraged.
